If you’re looking to go into consulting, remember that the real product you’re selling isn’t your expertise in a subject or your knowledge or even your advice. What you’re actually selling is yourself.
Who you are is a full package. This means that you need to know yourself from soup to nuts, and understand who you are both as a person and a professional, and what exactly you can bring to the table when it comes to the needs of the client. This requires a great deal of self-awareness, as well as a high amount of business savvy.
Not only do you need to be knowledgeable, but you also have to be able to be able to sell yourself, as well. This sounds a lot more titillating than it actually is – a lot of “selling yourself” involves getting social networking accounts and schmoozing with potential clients. Never underestimate the power of the schmooze – if you’ve got serious social skills, now is the time to have them shine. If you don’t, now is the time to learn to cultivate some.
Another thing to consider when you’re going into the business of consulting is how much you’re actually worth. Your mom might say that you’re worth your weight in gold, but it’s unlikely that most clients will say the same. In general it’s a good idea to charge your clients hourly rather than by the job, as it presents a more consistently professional image. It’s more difficult to judge how much an individual job may be worth, too, and if clients believe that other clients are getting preferential treatment, it does damage to the reputation of your company or your name, which is anathema in consulting.

Do you, too, experience difficulty finding words in the dictionary when you are clueless about how they are spelled? Such, for me, is a frustrating endeavor. Take arthritus, (I mean arthritis) for example. My wrong logic often leaves out the second “r”.

A commonality among medical issues is that the spelling of the ailment is every bit as important as treatment and diagnosis.

Fortunately, today we have such applications as MS Word or Word Perfect to help us in our quest for getting the right word. If your spelling is too far off the mark, even these applications might prove of limited value.

Even if MS Word and Word Perfect fail us, there’s always the option of turning to Google. If I am seeking the right spelling of the word arthritis, Google will provide it.

First, I enter in the word arthitis into the search engine to gain my results.

The display of the results includes a statement at the top which reads “Did you mean: arthritis?”.

Not only have they provided me with the correct spelling as a result, but they are kind enough to provide me with a link to the search-results page containing the correct spelling.

Should I still be unclear as to arthitis spellings I can look through the search results and find numerous descriptions with the correct spelling of the word. My thinking should be made right in regards to right spelling of arthritis after reading the strings at this site.

One serious problem with misspellings is that most words including arthitis which we now know to be arthritis have more than one. There are many misspellings afield in regards to the word arthritis.

    Samples of those misspellings include:

    1. artheritis (6%)
    2. arthiritis (10%)
    3. artritis (4%)
    4. arthristis (6%)
    5. arthrits (3%)

The percentage marks behind each wrong spelling are self-explanatory. That more than twice as many people misspelled arthritis as arthritus compared to my common misspelling surprised me.

Arthritis must be misspelled more than the norm. That these people are misusing their search engine or word processor to spell this word is clear.

When arthritic pain is involved, spelling becomes far less important. Hopefully, right words to describe your pain will flow freely and accurately from your mouth. Just remember that if your word processor doesn’t have your right answer, the search engines might.

Another place to find real answers to decreasing the pain of arthritis, which we formerly spelled arthitis, is PainKickers.com where you rub it on and your pain is gone.
